Types of diabetes in pregnant women

• Gestational diabetes - Pregnant women who have never had diabetes before but who have high blood glucose levels during pregnancy
  • Document method of control (diet vs. insulin), and
  • If the patient has abnormal glucose tolerance or gestational diabetes
• Type I diabetes - the body does not produce insulin (5% of all patients with diabetes)
• Type II diabetes - insulin resistance
