Types of diabetes in pregnant women
- Gestational diabetes - Pregnant women who have never had diabetes before but who have high blood glucose levels during pregnancy
- Document method of control (diet vs. insulin), and
- If the patient has abnormal glucose tolerance or gestational diabetes
- Type I diabetes - the body does not produce insulin (5% of all patients with diabetes)
- Type II diabetes - insulin resistance
